What is ELLA?

The English Language Learning Advisement (ELLA) Center addresses the administrative, clerical, advising, and registration needs of the entire English Language Learner (ELL) population at Eastfield College (EFC).  ELLA supports academic success and student retention by correctly matching ELL needs and goals with EFC programs of study.  ELLA is the first stop for English Language Learners (ELLs) at EFC, whether future or current. ELLA's central location in C112 is inherently synergistic with existing EFC student services centers such as Admissions, Advisement, Assessment, Dual Credit, Teacher Preparation, eConnect and the Business Office.

• Intake for Non-Native English Speaking Students
  • Determine students' needs and preferences
  • Identify students' educational and program goals
  • Assist with EFC application
  • Provide enrollment management services
  • Assist with questions about International Student status and programs
• Assessment Referrals
• Advisement
• Registration (for current classes, new sections, on-demand classes, weekend college and classes not listed on or in the EFC schedules.)
• Orientation
• Referrals to other Student Services Centers
• Community Outreach
• Student Recruitment
