I studied at the University of North Texas where I received my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees. I have courses toward my Ph.D from the University of New Mexico.

Love of words drew me to the field of English. I choose to teach because it allows me to interact with people and to help students think more critically and creatively.

During my leisure time, I enjoy reading, traveling (especially to the southwest), writing and cooking. I enjoy my time away from school with my husband, two sons and three cats.
