PEGGY CHITTENDEN BROWN has her PhD in Humanities and was named Piper Professor of the State of Texas by the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation after being named Outstanding Professor at Collin College in Plano. She teaches creative writing, English composition, and humanities. Her publishing history includes short stories, poetry, and academic articles. Her first novel, Strangler Figs, won the Readers' Favorite Award from the Association of Independent Authors. Her second novel is in progress with the working title of “Instincts."
Dr. Brown has given writing workshops in Austin, South Padre Island, Dallas, and Plano. In each workshop she draws on 23 years of experience teaching creative writing at Collin College.
