Welcome to Eastfield College! You are the reason we’re passionate about teaching and learning. Thank you for selecting our campus to be a part of your educational journey! Your accomplishments—academic, professional and personal—ultimately become the successes of the entire college community.
Eastfield College has an open door admissions policy. It insures that all persons who can profit from post-secondary education have an opportunity to enroll. The admissions application may be submitted any time prior to registration; however, students are encouraged to submit their application early. To expedite the process, new students may apply online. Returning students (students formerly enrolled in the DCCCD who have not attended a DCCCD college for more than one year) must complete the DCCCD (Paper) Admissions Application or complete the Apply Texas application online at www.ApplyTexas.org.
It is mandatory that a new student graduating from high school within the last five years submit their high school transcript. If you are a transfer or transient student, you must submit official transcripts from ALL colleges or universities attended. In addition, documentary evidence of Texas residency must be provided by all applicants claiming Texas residence and requesting resident tuition classification. The evidence must be submitted with the application of admission and must prove twelve (12) months of Texas residence immediately prior to the semester of enrollment. Failure to provide evidence will result in an applicant being classified as a non-resident for tuition purposes. Please review the residency determination notification for specific information detailing required residency documentation. Finally, a new state law requires students entering college or a university in Spring 2012 who are less than 30 years old demonstrate proof of inoculation against bacterial meningitis. By submitting admissions documents early, students may have adequate time for effective advisement and class schedule planning. A later place in registration often means that the classes a student desires may already be filled.
The Academic Advisors within the Advisement Center are available to discuss students’ skills, abilities, degree plans, educational background, life experiences and motivation to help them make selections from the educational options available. You may drop-in at any time to obtain a referral form for assessment tests, career placement information and learning assistance. If English is not your first language, and you need ESOL or ESL classes, you may request advisement services at the English Language Learning Advisement Center.
The Assessment Center of Eastfield College requires certain assessment procedures for use in course placement. Assessment is not used to determine admissions except for students concurrently enrolled in high schools. The Testing Center provides comprehensive testing services. If you are a new-to-college student and you have not met the testing requirements to register, you must take the TSI Assessment
