EASTFIELD COLLEGE COMMENCEMENT
CEREMONY PROCEDURES


  • Eastfield staff will guide you throughout the ceremony.
  • Enter through the Conference Center.
  • Check in and obtain your name card; proceed to the Ballroom.
  • Complete your contact information on the back of your name card.
  • You must keep your name card with you; you will take your card with you when you go to the ceremony stage.
  • You will be given instructions for the evening and will then line up to proceed to the arena.
  • Administrators, Board Members, and Faculty will lead the Processional.
  • Graduates will follow, led by a staff member.
  • Staff will direct you to your row of seats.
  • Remarks will be made by the college President, a DCCCD Board Trustee, and other speakers.
  • Graduates will be directed to get up, row-by-row, and to proceed to the stage with name card in hand.
  • Hand your name card to the announcer and cross the stage as your name is announced.
  • The President will congratulate you and you will receive a diploma cover.
  • Your photograph will be taken as you cross the stage and again while you are backstage.
  • You will follow your row of graduates and return to your seat.
  • Once all students have crossed the stage, the President will confer the degrees and instruct the graduates to move their tassels from RIGHT to LEFT.
  • Administrators, Board Members, and Faculty will lead the Recessional from the arena.
  • Graduates will follow as directed, row-by-row, and will proceed through the tunnel formed by the faculty.
    This will conclude the evening’s activities.
  • Graduates will exit through the Conference Center (the same doors you entered).
    We recommend that you pre-arrange a place to meet with your guests. 
    There is no re-entry into the Curtis Culwell Center once you leave.
