Petition for Reinstatement Process

This form is to be completed by those students whose Academic Standing is SUSP, DISM or IDIS. Please remember you will not be readmitted back into school if you have not completed your required time out of school. Definitions of SUSP, DISM, and IDIS

Suspension (SUSP)Students on Probation One will be placed on Suspension if they fail to complete at least one credit course in their next semester/session of enrollment and earn a semester/session GPA (1) of at least 2.0. Students on Suspension are ineligible to enroll in credit courses in the next subsequent session of enrollment (Fall Semester, Spring Semester or Summer Session).
Academic Dismissal
(DISM)
Students on Probation Two will be placed on Academic Dismissal if they fail to complete at least one credit course in their next semester/session of enrollment and earn a semester/term GPA (1) of at least 2.0. Students on Academic Dismissal are not eligible to enroll in credit courses for a period of 12 months.
Indefinite Dismissal
(IDIS)
Students on Probation Three will be placed on Indefinite Academic Dismissal if they fail to complete at least one credit course in their next semester/session of enrollment and earn a semester/term GPA (1) of at least 2.0. Students on Indefinite Academic Dismissal are not eligible to enroll for 12 months and are only eligible to enroll after that period upon the recommendation of the chief student affairs officer or designee at the college last attended.

How do I get reinstated back into Eastfield?

Step 1:Student submits petition for reinstatement online to the Probation Committee. To submit petition for reinstatement online, click here.

Students with an Indefinite Dismissal (IDIS) petition for reinstatement, click here.
Step 2:Probation Committee will review appeals.

Appeal Denied - Student must wait at least one semester before submitting a petition for reinstatement.

Appeal Approved - Student will meet with an advisor, create a schedule, and sign Probation Contract.

**Decisions will be processed within 72 business hours of submission.
Step 3:After a decision is made you will receive an email from the Probation Committee. This email will provide next steps and documents required for the enrollment process or when you will be eligible to return to school.

Students wanting to enroll for Summer 2015: Petitions will be accepted from Monday, May 4, 2015 until Friday, May 15, 2015. Deadline to submit petition is Friday, May 15, 2015 by 7pm. (No petitions accepted after May 15, 2015; Decisions take approximately 72 hours to be processed) Registration for Probation Reinstatement begins Thursday, May 20, 2015.

Students wanting to enroll for Fall 2015: Petitions will be accepted from Monday, July 20, 2015 until Saturday, August 15, 2015. Deadline to submit petition is Friday, May 15, 2015 by 3 pm. (No petitions accepted after August 15, 2015; Decisions take approximately 72 hours to be processed). Since fall is a busy time please visit campus to meet with an advisor once you submit your petition.

Things to Remember:

If you are approved to return to school, you will only be allowed to register for 2 classes and take a mandatory HDEV course. You must make a 2.0 GPA no grade less than C to continue enrollment.

Submissions will not be reviewed if questions on petition are left unanswered and are inaccurate. 
Submissions will be processed within 72 business hours.

Email will be sent to the email address on file with Eastfield College; please update in eConnect if it has changed.

If petitions for reinstatement are denied you must wait at least one semester before filing again. 

Students may be required to enroll in a probation course as part of reinstatement conditions. (based upon availability)
