Who will be issued a 1098-T for the last calendar year?

You will get a 1098-T if you:
made payments for your credit courses or took out a federal loan to pay for credit courses during the last calendar year
made payments for your credit courses during the last calendar year because your non-loan financial aid did not cover all of your tuition costs
Who will not be issued a 1098-T?
You will not get a 1098-T if:
financial aid paid for your credit courses in full during the last calendar year
a waiver paid for your credit courses in full during the last calendar year
you made payments in the last calendar year only for noncredit courses or audited credit courses
Even if you are not automatically issued a 1098-T form, you may request one.
If I used a Pay Plan, will the fees I paid show up on my 1098-T?
No. The Pay Plan setup fee and any late fee amounts are not included on the 1098-T because they are not eligible expenses for the tax credit.
If I paid for continuing education classes, will I get a 1098-T?
If you took credit classes and continuing ed classes during the same semester during the last calendar year, and your financial aid did not exceed the amount of credit tuition you paid, then yes, you will get a 1098-T.
If you paid for continuing education classes only, you will not get a 1098-T.
Which 1098-T form should I use to file my taxes?
If you print your form from ECSI’s website, it is equivalent to the form that was mailed to you. You can use either one for the purpose of preparing your tax return.
