 NOTE: CUST 2370.41001 Civil Rights Movements in American Culture. PROFESSOR KATHERINE CLOER HAS CHANGED HER NAME TO KATHERINE REGUERO. The civil rights movement is one of the most significant sources of social change in the United States during the 20th century. This course analyzes the structure and dynamics of various civil rights movements from the viewpoints of history, sociology, and political science. We pay close attention to the roles of organizations, resources, leadership,recruitment, commitment, values, ideology, political culture and gender. This course may be taken as HIST 1302 or CUST 2370.
