Eastfield Sluggers Sign with DI & DII Schools

(Mesquite, TX) – Eastfield College Head Baseball Coach Michael Martin announced recently that three of his players have signed scholarship agreements with National Collegiate Athletic Association schools. Sophomore players – Michael O'Campo, Tommy Rozell and Allen Neill – announced their intentions and all have formally signed NCAA national letters of intent.

Michael O'Campo, of Sugar Land, Texas, chose Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA, where he will be a pitcher for the Demons. NSU, a NCAA Division I school under head coach Mitch Gaspard, is part of the Southland Conference. O'Campo was also named 2007 NJCAA All Conference Player

Tyler native Tommy Rozell will be also be a pitcher for Northwestern State. 

Allen Neill, of Magnolia, Arkansas, signed with the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Neill will play outfielder for the Boll Weevils under coach Ron Hill. The Boll Weevils are a NCAA Division II school in the Gulf South Conference.

“We’re excited about the opportunities these players have to continue their education and play baseball,” said Coach Michael Martin. “I think that these players will successfully transition to the next level of their college careers and will have a significant impact on their new teams. We look forward to following their progress in the next two years and wish them good luck.”
