Eastfield’s Auto Body Technology Department Receives Challenge Grant

(Mesquite, TX) –Eastfield College is pleased to announce the approval of a $10,000 challenge grant from The Collectors Foundation Board of Directors. The Foundation awards scholarships and educational grants to organizations committed to “hands-on education” and making a difference in the lives of young people through the appeal of historic vehicles and vessels - building the next generation of collectors. The grant money will be used to purchase equipment for the new Custom Auto/ Street Rod Certificate program. Eastfield is one of only six public colleges in the nation to offer this program, which teaches skills including welding, refinishing, chassis design and custom metal fabrication.
