(Mesquite, TX) – Eastfield College had over 300 employees working with 200 different community agencies and organizations during the Dallas County Community College District’s Day of Service, held February 18. Day of Service is a district-wide event dedicated to volunteering and bettering our community.
“Since the founding of the Dallas County Community College District, service has been one of our core values,” said Dr. Wright Lassiter, Chancellor, of the Day of Service. Service Learning has become a major component of the academic thrust of the district. The colleges had a unique and unusual opportunity to demonstrate that value and commitment to the larger Dallas community with the Day of Service.
