Guidelines and Procedures
Guidelines
- Employees are encouraged to make application for the funding of educational and professional development activities. Examples of such include: college tuition, workshops, seminars, conventions, Project Renewal, NISOD, etc. Funding is not available for partisan political events or personal activities. Examples of such include: political conventions, recreational funding.
- Full-time and limited full-time employees who have a minimum of one year’s employment with the college are eligible to apply for funding.
- Awards are limited to a maximum of $300.00 every two years. Employees may choose to utilize that amount by (a) applying from the maximum once every two years or (b) applying for portions at the maximum amount over two year period. The fiscal year for which funding is requested will mark the beginning of the two year period.
- All applications will receive fair and equitable consideration.
Procedures
- EDF application forms are to be obtained from the president’s office, Gerald Kozlowski’s office: T143 ext. 7143 and Karla Greer’s office: L215C in the Library ext: 7173.
- After the applicant’s supervisor approves and signs the application, the form is to be sent to Gerald Kozlowski, chairman of the EDF committee. The application will then be presented to the EDF committee for review and presentation.
- The committee will provide first-level approval of the expenditure of EDF funds and forward such requests to the president for final signature approval. The employee will be notified as to the application award status at the time it is forwarded to the DCCCD Foundation Office.
- All approved applications will be sent to the DCCCD Foundation Office for administration of award funds.
- After the employee has completed the event, activity, etc., the employees is to turn in all receipts to the DCCCD Foundation Office. A check for the approved amount will be cut and sent to the employee from the DCCCD Foundation Office.
