Become Equipped for the Future with
ESL for Business at Eastfield College!
These courses are for students and workers who can speak English at
an intermediate level and need to enhance their English communication
and language skills for on the job performance.
Utilizing
the national standards-based initiative Equipped For the Future, students
work on four skills areas: communication, interpersonal skills, life-long
learning and decision-making. The program intends to make adults perform
well in their roles of effective worker, family member and community member.
Also included in the program is the use of dramatic real-life scenarios
presented via video with interactive language learning with ELLIS Business.
An exceptional program for language learning, ELLIS Business Series is
correlated to SCANS, and Technology and Learning magazine has awarded
it its Software Award of Excellence for three consecutive years. Eastfield
College is the only college in the DCCCD offering ELLIS Business Series.
English language and business skills developed to suit
the needs of your company’s employees!
Students will receive instruction in office, management and English language
skills. Courses are offered during the week in a fast-track mode and on
the weekends.
- Course enrollment requirement: a score of 36 or more
on the Lindholm evaluation, a course completion certificate from our
English for Speakers of Other Languages course Level 3B, or permission
from the Program’s Director, Maria Caratini Prado.
