This beginning course introduces students to the Spanish language.  Emphasis is on oral production and learning about the Hispanic/Latino culture. Topics include: vocabulary word building, gender, time, numbers, basic math, present tense, AR and ER verbs, family, descriptions, adjectives and reading and building simple sentences. Textbook required.

Spanish II - LANZ 1000        $65.00
SPANISH
Prerequisites: Spanish I or demonstrated competency.
A course for the student who has had some previous instruction in Spanish. Emphasis is placed on oral conversation at the intermediate level. Areas covered are: Hispanic/Latino culture, irregular present tense verbs;  IR, SER, ESTAR, SALIR, TENER, HACER, GUSTAR, more numbers, progressions, days, months, weather, seasons, possessive adjectives, and higher level grammar. Textbook required.

Spanish III - LANZ 1000       $65.00
SPANISH
Prerequisites: Spanish II or demonstrated competency.
This course is designed for students who can speak Spanish with some fluency and are interested in enhancing their listening/ speaking, reading and writing skills, as well as learning more about the Hispanic Culture. The course consists of a review of the troublesome points of grammar and the introduction of more advanced elements of the language. Areas covered are prepositions, more numbers; the verbs IR, QUERER, DECIR; foods, table settings, places, clothing, animals, countries, nationalities, languages, and an introduction to the preterite tense. Textbook required.
