The "weight" is over! We had over 300 participants in our Lose to Win contest this semester!
The winners of the iPads are student Amy Ross who lost 12.19% body mass and student Esteban Hernandez who lost 11.22% body mass!
Winner of the parking space is faculty member Jessica Kerins who lost 4% body mass!
What is Lose to Win?
We've all heard about or seen the reality TV show "The Biggest Loser". Lose to Win is Eastfield College's take on this famous reality TV show. This fall the focus of the Common Book Fast Food Nation, by Eric Schlosser is health and nutrition and what better way to promote good health then with a weight loss challenge! Who can participate?
Any student or staff can participate in the Lose to Win contest. The top female and male students will win iPads, while the top female and male staff will win parking spaces for the Spring 2013 semester. When do I weigh-in? We have added two evening weigh-in's - Monday, Sept 10th and Tuesday, Sept 11th from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
The initial weigh-in will be Thursday, Sept 6th and Friday, Sept 7th from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. We will record your initial weight and initial BMI (body mass index). There will be monthly weigh-ins so you that you can track your progress. The final weigh-in will be Thursday, Dec 6th and Friday, Dec 7th from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Winners will be determined based on percent body mass lost. Where do I weigh-in?
Weigh-ins will take place in the Health Center (C139). You must attend the initial weigh-in in Sept and the final weigh-in in Dec. Monthly weigh-ins are optional but highly recommended. How do I sign up?
Show up to the initial weigh-in on Thursday, Sept 6th or Friday, Sept 7th from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm in the Health Center (C139)!
