INSTRUCTIONAL COMPUTING

Instructional Computing consists of two areas: The Computer Center and Network Support. The Computer Center is the open lab available to all students and employees while the Network Support staff is responsible for providing technical support for all hardware and software associated with the instructional network.

NETWORK SUPPORT

Technical Support is responsible for the installation, maintenance and management of the educational network and all hardware and software used on the network. The educational network includes two Novell file servers, two Windows 2000 servers, six Windows 2003 servers, 1 Linux server, 1 Mac. server, and over a thousand computers.

COMPUTER CENTER

The Computer Center is available to currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff of the Dallas County Community College District. The Computer Center provides direct support to students in an open lab environment.  There are 110 computers available for use in the open lab, and 2 orientation/workshop labs used for over-flow.
