What is the difference between Dual Credit and Advanced Placement (AP)?

With Dual Credit, a high school student can enroll in a college level course and can earn college and high school credit with the successful completion of the course.

With AP, a high school student can take a AP class in high school that is designed to simulate the rigor of a college class while preparing students to take the AP exam. Students can earn college credit based on the scores they earn on the AP exam. Score requirements for college credit by subject vary from college to college.
