Status notifications will be sent via email after the deadline to each student who has applied for graduation for the “current semester.” Students classified as a non-graduate will be notified by email. Any non-graduate will need to reapply for graduation for the following semester. Updates may be requested at any time.
If you have substituted courses for any degree plan requirement, it is your responsibility to make sure that Degree Audit has a copy of the approved substitution with your file.

Commencement is the ceremony that is held at the end of the spring semester in May. This ceremony celebrates the achievement of the degree and graduates are recognized by the College, community members, family and friends.
Graduation is the process of being awarded a degree. All students wishing to graduate must apply for graduation by the application deadline. By applying for graduation, the College will determine whether or not you have not met all of your degree requirements.
There is only one Commencement Ceremony held each year in May.
There is no cost for you or your guests to attend the Commencement Ceremony. However, there is a cost for the regalia (cap, gown and tassel) that is worn during the ceremony. Total cost for the regalia is approximately $32.00.

Commencement Ceremony regalia will be ordered and picked up in the bookstore, and invitations are ordered online via herffjones, select Mesquite, Texas, Colleges and Universities, Robes and Apparel, and Eastfield College to place your order.

No. You must complete the coursework and hours necessary to be considered a graduate. In order to participate in the May Commencement Ceremony, you must be 9 credit hours or less away from completing your degree/certificate. Your participation or attendance at the Commencement Ceremony does not mean that you have completed your degree requirements.

Final processing for graduation takes place within four weeks after the close of each semester. This timeframe may vary due to holidays, campus closing or the short summer semesters.
An email will be sent to you when your diploma and/or certificate is ready for pick up. Special considerations MUST be emailed to your degree audit representative.
