A “Club Advisor” must be a full-time faculty member, professional support staff member or administrator. Club Advisors will assist club activities and provide advice concerning policies, procedures and resources. You can have more than one (especially if you are a large or active group!). Ask basic questions about your club such as your mission, purpose, activities, who your officers are, and when you’d like to hold club meetings.
Have the advisor sign the Petition for Recognition form and review your Club Constitution for suggestions or corrections. Submit the Petition for Recognition Form and your final draft of the constitution to the Office of Student Life. It is then necessary to attend a Club Orientation, submit an Officer’s Roster and Membership Roster.
You will be notified when the Director of the Office of Student Life and the Dean of Student Services has approved your petition. After requirements are met, you can begin submitting requests for meeting space and publicizing your club meetings. But most of all have fun! Welcome to Student Life!
