The Lady Harvester Volleyball team hosted Northern Oklahoma College - Enid in double header action and ended the day splitting the two matches with the visiting Lady Jets.

NOC took the first match by scores of 30-27, 30-28, 30-24. In the first set, the Lady Jets took a commanding 13-3 lead early on, but Eastfield was able to battle back behind the hitting of sophomore Erin Kirkpatrick, leading EFC with 11 kills for the match. The Lady Harvesters pulled to within two points at 25-27 but would draw no closer as NOC closed out the set. At the start of the second set, it was the Lady Harvesters that would draw first blood and sprint out to a 10-0 lead on the serving of sophomore setter Beth Buresh. But NOC slowly closed the gap throughout the set with Eastfield hanging on at 26-23, the Lady Jets eventually taking the lead 27-26 and never looking back. The third set saw NOC chip away at an early Eastfield lead and close out the match in straight sets. Statistical leaders for EFC: Kills - Kirkpatrick 12; Assists - Buresh 26; Aces - Buresh 8; Digs - Emily Vanderburg 6; Blocks - Francesca Chambers, Jennifer Hatcher 1.5.

The afternoon match saw the Lady Harvesters take the floor with a new attitude and energy, resulting in a 30-26, 30-22, 25-30, 30-25 victory. A different sort of drama characterized the second match of this double header, both teams playing closely each set, with the first set including five ties and a single lead change that EFC would never relinquish. Kirkpatrick would again lead the Lady Harvesters that set with six kills (14 total), and freshman transfer Francesca Chambers anchoring the defense with 1.5 blocks (3.5 total). The remainder of the match would remain closely contested, Eastfield eventually taking the match in four sets. Buresh & freshman Emily Vanderburg led EFC with 16 digs each.

A huge thanks to everyone who came out to support the team this weekend, and everyone is invited to come out to the next home match on Thursday, September 14th when we host Paris Junior College at 7:00pm.
