Asian Studies Symposium at Eastfield College
On October 16-17, 2008, Eastfield College (DCCCD) hosted an Asian Studies Symposium. The symposium focused on implementing alternative pedagogical methods by incorporating Asian Studies into the current curriculum and bringing attention to various aspects of Asian culture in relation to local or global issues. Presenters from Austin College, DCCCD, SMU, UTD, UNT, and Asian-American Communities shared their knowledge and experience with educators and scholars who are interested in learning about a conglomerate of Asian cultures. Coordinated by the Asian-American and Middle Eastern-American Studies Program of Eastfield College, the Fall 2008 Asian Studies Symposium introduces "How to Incorporate Asian Studies into the Curriculum."
