The Eastfield College Art Department.
We believe that making art makes a difference in the world around
us. We can shape the culture of our future by contributing our own
ideas, dreams, and visions in objects made of clay, paint, stone,
paper, metal, wood, and other materials.
Our studio art program and faculty will challenge you to take chances,
think critically, and create passionately. We believe in teaching.
We give you the freedom to experiment with new ways of thinking
and making. Our program balances theory with practice, and tradition
with innovation. We offer classes in: Ceramics, Sculpture, Photography,
Fibers, Jewelry, Drawing, Painting, Design, Installation, Digital
Art, and Computer Graphics.

Gallery219 presents the work of outstanding fine artists from Texas
and beyond and features fine art student exhibitions each semester.
We involve our students in artist studio visits, special events,
museum exhibitions, and community service.
We believe in art. Our reputation in the art community is based
on the high quality of our faculty. Our professors hold masters
degrees in fine art or art history.
Our studio art classes are limited to 18 students. You get personal
attention from excellent practicing artists who love to teach: James
Watral, Suzanne Kelley Clark, Deborah Ballard, Kaki-Crowell-Hilde,
Daniel Sellers, Lorraine Tady, Peter Ligon, Margaret Meehan, Gary
Grogan, Lupita Tinnen, Amy Halko, Brenda Lichman-Barber, Sharon
Covington, David Willburn, Kathy Windrow, Natalie Macellaio, Ben
Espey, and Annie Foster.
David Willburn, Elizabeth Simon, Mike Kennedy, and Carlos Rovelo
teach art appreciation for majors and non-majors, providing insight
into the materials, methods, and theories of art. Art historians
Estelle Fonteneau and Heather Sheppard Lunn introduce you to art
though the ages and around the world. They are professionals actively
engaged in research who present art historical lectures and papers
nationally.
Our student body is diverse and eclectic. Come check us out!
