 NOTE: Civil Rights Movements in American Culture. The civil rights movement is one of the most significant sources of social change in the United States during the 20th century. This course analyzes the structure and dynamics of various civil rights movement from the viewpoints of history, sociology and political science. We pay attention to the roles of organizations, resources, leadership, recruitment, commitment, values, ideology, political culture and gender. This course may be taken as HIST 1302 or CUST 2370.
