In the old days when the men were able to have many wives, a certain man of middle age had one old wife and one young wife.  Each one cared for him very much and him wanted to appear the adequate companion for her.

His hair was turning gray which the young wife did not like because she saw him as too old to be her husband.  Thus when she combed his hair, she pulled the gray hair every night.

In exchange, the older wife saw the gray hair with pleasure because she did not want to appear to be his mother.  So, every morning she combed his hair and pulled every black hair that he had.  The result was that soon the man became completely bald.
