El loro  y la mujer pícara

The Parrot and the Sly Woman

(Author Unknown)

In the city, there lived a man that was very jealous of his woman.  One day, he bought a parrot and placed it in a cage, and put it in the best (biggest) room of the house.  The bird needed to observe the woman while he was absent, and then tell everything without hiding anything from him.

One day, when the husband was at work, an amigo of the woman came in.  The parrot saw what happened between the lovers.  Therefore, the woman grabbed the parrot and began to pour water, making it believe that it was raining.  With a mirror she imitated lights that appeared like lightening and noise that the parrot thought there was thunder.

Like that, the woman did all through the night until came the day.  When the husband came home and asked the parrot what he saw during the night, the parrot said – I was not able to see anything because of the rain, the thunder and lightening.

Then the man said  “¿The truth about my woman is like this that you tell me? ¡Well, you are deceitful and I will kill you.”

He sent for his woman and asked her pardon.
