La Muerte (El grimorio) The death

(Por  Enrique Anderson-Imbert)

The motorist (black dressed, black hair, black eyes, and pale of face) saw in the road a young girl that is signaling for him to stop.  (Para = park)

(She was asking for a ride.)

You take me?  Until the  town, no farther. Said the girl;

Get in said the motorist. And he sped off at top speed for the road that bordered the mountain.

Many thanks, said the young girl with a charming gesture

But are you not afraid to ride with people you don’t know. They are able to do harm.  This is so deserted.

No I am not afraid.

And if someone holds you up?

No I am not afraid.

You have no fear?

No?  Permit me to introduce myself  he said to the girl with the large eyes, limpid, imaginative,. And immediately, pretending a smile, faked a voice deep…I am death.

D-e-a-t-h.

The motorist smiled mysteriously.

At the next curve the automobile goes over a cliff.  The young girl is left dead on the stones.  The motorist followed on and came to a cactus and disappeared.
