The senior population is one of the fastest growing groups in Texas and consists of those individuals who are 60 years of age and over. Improved health and resources have made it possible for most Americans to enjoy more of their retirement years. However, there are others who are in need of special assistance and care. Because of the rapid growth of the needs of this retirement population, and the needs of society and industry pertaining to assistance in caring for senior citizens, there will be a continuing need for professionals with knowledge of the needs of this aging society.
