Ana Chavez

President

Ana Chavez My Purpose
I held a two year term Secretary Position in Eastfield College SGA and I am currently TJCSGA Region II Public Relations Representative for Eastfeild College.  I have experience in parliamentary procedure from the Student Government workshops and training which will help me guide the meetings.  I held many leadership positions at school so I know I have what it takes to become a leader.  I am Director of the Rotaract Club and former vice president of GSA.
What I hope to accomplish as president are to receive more students input on their concerns, helping new coming members develop their leadership skills, and increase my communication skills.  The more input SGA will receive from our students the more effort we will put into helping the best way we can.  I would like to help the new and returning members grow their leadership skills the way I was taught through student government parliamentary procedure.  I would like to gain additional communications skills because it will help me in the field of research and also networking.

Jasmin Chavez

Vice President

Jasmin Chavez

I am Jasmin Chavez and I am running for Vice President for Student Government Association. I am running for this position because I want to be involved in helping the student body voice their opinions. I have always been the person who is willing to do what is right in any given situation. My professors and acquaintances know I am a dependable and diligent worker, who is willing to sacrifice time and energy in caring for the student body. I would put being Vice President of Eastfield as one of my main priorities, to ensure that the students of Eastfield receive nothing but the best.

Edgar Rodriguez

Vice President

Edgar Rodriguez

My name is Edgar Rodriguez and I am running for vice president. I graduated from the School of Science and Engineering at Townview in 2012 and this is my second semester at Eastfield. Even though I have only been here for a short time, I have already been blessed with wonderful students and peers. When I first came I did not expect Eastfield to be such a warm and welcoming place. Coming to Eastfield has made me realize that I have the potential to do anything if I set my mind towards it. If I were to get elected I would try my absolute best in helping other students discover new things about themselves by getting them more involved with the school. I should get elected because I am willing to give all of my effort in making this school become a second home for us students and for those of the future. I firmly believe that every student can play role into improving this school by voicing their opinion. If you are looking for a person who is hard working, dedicated and has strong conviction then I believe that I am the perfect person for the job.

I am responsible with money and know how to keep up with spending. I am also creative and will bring that creativity into finding new ways of raising money. I am a very motivated person and I have so much love for the school I consider it my second home. You might also recognize me since I also work at the office of Student Life and meet everyone who passes by for a free pencil. I know that I am a great leader and have the power to do great and move on to do greater things in life so being chosen by the students would be such an honor.

Jesus Castillo

Parliamentarian

Jesus Castillo My name is Jesus Castillo and I have been at Eastfield for a year now. I plan to pursue a career in mechanical engineering. I play sports like soccer, swimming, cross country, and track and field. I have participated in multiple leadership seminars. In high school I participated in a leadership seminar in Florida, giving me an idea of what it takes to be a leader. I was able to understand how leaders have to take charge and keep its employees under his/her umbrella of management. To start off as a team member and to work your way up and be a team leader. Being able to think outside the box and be determined to take charge of situations. I also participated in another leader conference known as NODA. At NODA leaders have to maintain a cool head and be able to now ones own limitations. I was able to use everything I know from my past experiences and use them. I was able to use the skills in being a “Harverstar”. In being able to be in a team, and resolve conflicts during our sessions. To be able to keep order and maintain our focus on the objectives, while having fun. The knowledge acquired from all the seminars, conferences I have visited, will be beneficial to our SGA but more importantly our school. As parliamentarian I vow to uphold to uphold the position with honor and respect, at our meetings (which you are welcomed to come). With the understanding of how the process and the order that should be followed. In doing so we will be able to complete more challenges given to us, therefore giving us not another year of just a regular school but a year of accomplishments.
