Amount: $2,000 This program provides awards to minority students pursuing degrees in the fields of hospitality, hospitality management, and hotel management. The scholarships are based on academic achievement and recommendations or references. Applicants must be attending or planning to attend a member college of the Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education. The member schools nominate students; direct applications are not available. Ask your schools deans office, financial aid office, or hotel/hospitality department chair for information on how to be nominated and apply for this award. |
American Library Association Spectrum Initiative Scholarship 50 E. Huron St. |
Deadline: March 1 Amount: $3,000 The American Library Association provides scholarships to 50 library science students each year. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of potential for success. Applications are accepted from students entering or enrolled in ALA-accredited Master of Library Science degree programs who have completed less than 12 semester hours toward the masters degree through June of the year of application. Scholarships are based on academic achievement, work experience, leadership experience or potential, community service, and recommendations or references. Applicants must be citizens of the U.S. or Canada who are of minority descent. |
