Rebecca Allen Memorial Scholarship Recipients must be pursuing a business degree and have enrolled in at least 12 credit hours or more per semester.  Recipients are also expected to maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better, and to be employed at least part-time, as they pursue higher education.  Recipients must submit an employment verification letter to the NLC Financial Aid Office. Alice Jones Berding Award in Music Students are chosen based on character, talent, dedication, and need.       Music (preferably studying piano) $400 per semester Recipients are selectedy by music faculty at each college based on criteria.  Music faculty (must also complete musical selection form, letter and perform in special scholarship recital).   (see announcement). Dorothy  Johnson Booth Memorial Applicants must be able to demonstrate a personal commitment to community service and perform at least 10 hours of volunteer community service each semester Twelve (12) 3.0   Psychology Major   (2nd year only) $1,000 per academic year ($500 per semester) The Financial Aid Director at each college will review all applications and submit eligible requests to the DCCCD Foundation for approval. CompuCredit Aspire a Mas Scholarship Endowment Fund Applicants must attend MVC, enroll in a minimum of six (6) credit hours and have a minimum 2.5 GPA or better.  Must have a financial need. Eleanor Fordham Jones Award in Creative Writing Applicants must enroll in either a fall or spring creative writing class.  Preference is given to students majoring in English.       Creative Writing $400 per student The recipient is selected by the instructor(s) of Creative Writing at the designated college and are chosen based on character, talent, dedication, and need.  The recipient of this award is invited to recite a written piece at the yearly reception held in the spring. Dallas County Community College Single Mothers Scholarship Fund Appicants must have and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA or better and enroll in at least six (6) credit hours each semester. Must be a single mother (25 years old or younger) with children striving to attain their education. Must have custody of children.  Must be a low-income single mother.  Must be taking classes leading toward a degree or certficate completion. Six (6) 2.0     $375 per semester The Financial Aid Director at each college will review all applications and submit eligible requests to the DCCCD Foundation for approval. George Dawson "Hold Fast to Dreams" Scholarship fund Applicants must submit a completed George Dawson “Hold Fast to Dreams” Scholarship Application form to the DCCCD Financial Aid Department along with their essay and recommendation letter. Max & Rosa Goldblatt in Community Service Applicant must be able to demonstrate a personal commitment to community service by agreeing to volunteer at least 10 hours of each semester.  Community service can be with bond or political campaigns, hospitals, libraries, or any other civic volunteer work. Linda Nevius Groves Scholarship Applicants must have a minimum 2.0 GPA, enroll in at least six (6) credit hours, major in accounting and be a single parent striving to attain their education. D. and Lillie Belle Hall Applicants must be a member of an under-represented population.  Pre-college applicants must complete the requirements for a high school diploma or G.E.D. before the beginning of the academic year in which they plan to enroll in college. Fred and Mabel Hamm Scholarship Applicants must be hard-working students as demonstrated by working full or part-time while in school.  Applicants must be able to demonstrate a commitment to community service by showing involvement in volunteer or community activities. Intel Opportunity Scholarship Applicants must be majoring in Semi-conductor Manufacturing Technology (SMT). Erin Tierney Kramp Encouragement Scholarship Applicants must exemplify courage and perseverance in the face of adversity.  Applicants must also demonstrate moral character with leadership and scholarship qualities as evidenced by high academic standards.  Applicants must also have a high school diploma. Eight (8) 3.0   All Up to $2,400 each ($600 per semester for up to four semesters) Recipients are selected by the Board of Directors of the Erin Tierney Kramp Encouragement Foundation in coordination with the DCCCD Foundation.  Board members of the Kramp Foundation will serve as mentors so that Kramp Scholars will receive the maximum benefits from this special scholarship. LeCroy Scholars Program Applicants must exemplify outstanding leadership and scholarship as evidenced by a strong academic record and demonstrated leadership in academic, church, and/or community-based activities.  Applicants must also have a high school diploma. Richard McCrary International Scholarship Award Applicants are required to be a second-semester DCCCD student and show an interest in international/global experiences. Applicants must have already completed at least 12 college-level credit hours at a DCCCD college. Completed (12) or more credit hours at a DCCCD college. 2.5     Varies, as per available funds Completed applications should be sent to the location president who will forward them to the DCCCD Foundation.  The Foundation, will screen all applications and present to Richard D. Mesquite Host Lions Club Scholarship Applicants must be a graduate from a high school in the Mesquite Independent School District or a Christian School in Mesquite.  If a student has earned a GED, the last school attended must have been a school in the Mesquite ISD or Christian School in Mesquite.    Student must be enrolled and remain in a certificate program.  The student must demonstrate financial need as a qualifying factor the scholarship and be a member of an under-represented population who can demonstrate scholastic ability. DCCCD  Student Emergency Need Scholarship Applicants must be a DCCCD students currently experiencing urgent financial needs that affect their ability to attend and succeed in college. Funds will be used to assist with the payment for tuition and books.         All Based on availability of funds. In 2005 priority, will be given to international student affected by the tsunami tradedy from Southwest Asia.  The fund priorities are subject to change by direction of the DCCCD Chancellor.  The Financial Aid Director/Coordinator at each college will be responsible for submitting the completed student DCCCD application form to the DCCCD Foundation for approval. Baylor Senior Life Enrichment Scholarship Applicant must be enrolled and remain in a specific Health Career Program while receiving this scholarship.  Applicant must be a graduate of James Madison High School or School of Health Professions Townview Magnet Center.  Applicant must demonstrate the need for financial aid.  Applicant must complete community service hours at Baylor Senior Health Center prior to graduation.
