Eastfield Police Department Information

The Eastfield College Police Department is charged with the personal safety of students, employees and visitors. The Police Department is staffed by 22 licensed and certified Texas peace officers. The department is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patrol of the campus is performed by foot and automobile.

The Eastfield College police officers have full arrest and enforcement authority and possess all the powers and privileges and immunities accorded police officers in and by the state of Texas. Sworn personnel are empowered by applicable provisions of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedures, and Texas Education Code, and the rules and regulations promulgated by the Board of Trustees of the Dallas County Community College District.

The City of Mesquite Police Department and the Eastfield College Police Department maintain a concurrent jurisdiction agreement to provide the faculty, staff, students, and visitors with the best possible protection for those on campus. The safety of everyone on campus is our number one concern. If you should observe something that needs to be brought to our attention, we can be reached in the following manner:

  1. When dialing from an on campus phone, dial 911.
    When dialing from an outside phone (pay phones, cell phones, etc.), dial 972-860-4290.
  2. Use one of the 9 emergency-call-boxes at the following locations:
      • PE circle at swimming pool
      • Inside the swimming pool gates
      • On sidewalk on the west side of G Building (W3 lot)
      • Between N1 and N2 parking lots
      • E1 parking lot, Northwest corner
      • E5 parking lot on the north side of S Building
      • On the jogging trail adjacent to the baseball field
      • On the median between W4 and W5 lots
      • On the north side of L Building near W2 lot
