What is TRIO Educational Talent Search?

The goal of TRIO Educational Talent Search is to increase the number of youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who complete high school and enroll in and complete postsecondary education. 

The TRIO Educational Talent Search program provides academic, career, and financial counseling, publicizes the availability of financial aid, as well as assists participants with the college application process. 

TRIO Educational Talent Search also encourages persons who have not completed education programs at the secondary or postsecondary level to enter or reenter and complete postsecondary education. 


Who is eligible?

  • Students — 6th to 12th grade (Age 11-18)
    • Attending: Skyline, Samuell, Spruce, Florence, Hood, or Comstock)
  • Adults — Age 19-27 (in zip codes 75217, 75227, and 75253)
  • Veterans
  • Low income
  • Potential first generation college students
  • United States Citizens or permanent resident status

  • Assistance with Scholarship Applications
  • Assistance Applying for Federal Financial Aid
  • Financial Literacy and Workshops for Families

How Can I Become A Participant of TRIO Educational Talent Search?

Step 1: Obtain an application for the Eastfield College TRIO Educational Talent Search Program

High School and Middle School students:
Click on the ETS Student Participant Application.

Adults:
Click on the ETS General Community (Adult) Application.

In person: Pick up an application packet from your school counselor

or stop by the

TRIO Educational Talent Search Office
Eastfield College Pleasant Grove Campus
802 S. Buckner Blvd., Dallas, TX 75217
            
Step 2: Potential participants will need to complete the application form(s) and provide:

  1. Documentation of permanent residency if not a U.S. Citizen
  2. Parent Information Form included in the application packet

           
Step 3: Completed application information can be returned to the school counselor or the TRIO Educational Talent Search office.
